We will now aim on development of forecasting models and combined plant protection strategies for the future
2010, a new year
We have been taking it quite easy during this last cold winter. We hope that 2010 will be the start for new ideas and other thoughts regarding plant protection strategies and forecasting against the tortricid species we are working with. The project is still a collaboration between SLU Alnarp, SLU Ulltuna, Swedish board of agriculture, Äppelriket Österlen, Nordisk Alkali and the growers that has been a part of the project since the beginning. The project is financed by SLF, Partnerskap Alnarp and Äppelriket Österlen.
New challenges
During 2010 we will continue the inventory of tortricids started in 2008. We will parallell to this test different development trials for the species within the project under constant temperatures in climate chambers. We have also started with the basic setup for the combination of weather, tortricids and forecasting. We will work within our collaborative groups but also try to find other contacts abroas to strengthen our knowledge base and maybe find new approaches to our problems and ideas.
